A sensitive fluorimetric procedure for the determination of aliphatic epoxides under physiological conditions.

چکیده
A highly sensitive fluorimetric procedure based on alkylation of nicotinamide is described for the determination of aliphatic epoxides. Subsequent reaction of the resulting N-alkylnicotinamides with a ketone in basic medium yields strongly fluorescent products after final acidification. Sensitivity of the assay is in the picomole range with good reproducibility. The alkylation reaction proceeds under physiological conditions and thus shows potential for the analysis of epoxides in biological materials. Despite rapid enzymatic detoxification, styrene oxide could be directly detected in 9000g supernatant liver fractions using the present approach.

Extraction-Fluorimetric Determination of Trace Amounts of Mercury by 1,10-Diaza-18-Crown-6 and Rose Bengal
A simple and sensitive extraction-fluorimetric method for the determination of mercury is reported. The method is based on the quantitative extractionof a ternary crown-mercury-rose Bengal complex into chloroform at pH 10 followed by fluorimetric measurements at 580 nm. A linear working range from 0.05 to 2.00 mg/mL is obtained. The relative standard deviation for 1.0 </em...

Poly (N-bromosuccinimide) (PNBS) as a mild, efficient, non-acidic, polymeric and heterogeneous catalyst was applied for simple conversion of epoxides into thiiranes by treatment with KSCN or (NH2)2CS at room temperature. Aliphatic and aromatic epoxides converted into their corresponding thiiranes under mild conditions. All reactions proceeded in short reaction times and afforded the correspondi...

An environmentally benign procedure for the synthesis of vicinal nitrohydrins via the regioselective ring opening reaction of epoxides with nitrite anion using silica-bound 3-{2-[poly(ethylene glycol)]ethyl}-substituted 1-methyl-1H-imidazol-3-ium bromide as an effective heterogeneous phase transfer catalyst was described. Short reaction time, high yield of products, simple work-up proc...
متن کاملDevelopment of a Simple and Sensitive Terbium Sensitized Fluorescence Method for Determination of Epinephrine and Norepinephrine in Serum
A simple, rapid, selective and highly sensitive fluorimetric method for determination of two catecholamines, i.e. norepinephrine (NE) and epinephrine (EP), in serum samples was developed. The method is based on the fluorescence sensitization of terbium (Tb3+) by complexation with both catecholamines in the presence of lanthanum (La3+), as a co-cation, and in a Na...
متن کاملExtraction-Fluorimetric Determination of Low Levels of Copper by 1,7- Diaza-15-Crown-5 and Rose Bengal
A simple and sensitive extraction-fluorimetric method for the determination of copper is reported. The 1,7-diaza-15-crown-5-copper-rose Bengal (DA15C5-Cu-RB) ternary complex is quantitatively extracted into chloroform, diluted with ammoniacal acetone and its fluorescence intensity is measured at 570 nm with excitation at 540 nm. A linear calibration graph was obtained over the copper concen...
